WhatsApp Sticker Maker

A WhatsApp sticker must be exactly 512 × 512 pixels, WebP, and no more than 100 KB, in packs of 3 to 30 with a 96 × 96 tray icon. This free sticker maker turns photos into stickers that meet those rules: it removes plain backgrounds, adds the white outline and captions, and downloads single stickers or a whole pack. Nothing is uploaded.

    How to make WhatsApp stickers

    1. Add photos (up to 30). Plain backgrounds are removed automatically.
    2. Touch up with the eraser and restore brushes; adjust the tolerance and press Remove background to try again.
    3. Frame it: drag to move, zoom and rotate, then set the outline and shadow. Add a caption if you want a meme sticker.
    4. Tag it with up to 3 emoji so WhatsApp's sticker search can find it.
    5. Download one sticker, or the whole pack once it has at least 3 stickers.

    Getting the stickers into WhatsApp

    • WhatsApp Web or Desktop: open a chat, choose the attach menu's Sticker option and pick the downloaded image; WhatsApp sends it as a sticker you can then save as a favourite.
    • On a phone: recent versions of WhatsApp have a Create option in the sticker tab for single stickers. For a whole pack in your sticker tray, use a sticker pack app that imports WebP files; the pack's 512 px WebP files and tray icon are in the format those apps expect.
    • Developers: the ZIP's contents.json follows WhatsApp's official sample sticker app, so the folder can go straight into its assets to publish your own sticker app.

Use pictures you have the right to use. WhatsApp requires stickers to be legal, authorised and acceptable. Do not turn other people's photos, artwork or brands into stickers without permission. This tool is free, provided as is, and not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

    Frequently asked questions

What size should a WhatsApp sticker be?

Exactly 512 × 512 pixels in WebP format, with a transparent background, and no larger than 100 KB for a still sticker. A pack holds 3 to 30 stickers plus a 96 × 96 pixel tray icon of up to 50 KB. These are the rules in WhatsApp's official sticker README, and every sticker this tool makes meets them; WhatsApp notes its own stickers are around 15 KB each.

How do I make a WhatsApp sticker from a photo?

Add the photo; if it has a plain background the tool cuts it out at once. Touch up with the eraser and restore brushes, add a white outline and a caption if you like, then download the sticker or the whole pack. On WhatsApp Web or Desktop you can send the image through the attach menu's Sticker option; on a phone, recent WhatsApp versions have a Create option in the sticker tab, and sticker pack apps can import the downloaded WebP files.

How do I remove the background from a photo for a sticker?

The automatic removal clears every pixel connected to the photo's edges that is close to the edge colour, so it works best on a plain wall, sky or studio background. Raise the tolerance if some background remains, lower it if parts of the subject disappear, then use the eraser for leftovers and the restore brush to bring back anything removed by mistake.

Why is my sticker over 100 KB?

Large, detailed photos with many colours compress less. This tool lowers the WebP quality step by step until the sticker is under 100 KB, so downloads always fit. A tighter crop, a plain cut-out and a thinner outline also make files smaller. Browsers that cannot write WebP save PNG instead, which iPhone sticker apps accept but Android sticker apps do not.

    Can I make animated stickers?

Not yet. This tool makes still stickers. WhatsApp's rules for animated stickers are stricter: animated WebP up to 500 KB, frames at least 8 milliseconds long, at most 10 seconds in total, and a pack cannot mix animated and still stickers.

What is in the downloaded pack?

A ZIP with stickers named 01.webp, 02.webp and so on, tray.png (96 × 96), contents.json with the pack name, publisher and each sticker's emoji and description in the layout of WhatsApp's official sample sticker app, and a short README. Developers can drop the folder into the sample app's assets to publish a sticker app.

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. Background removal, outlines and WebP encoding all run in your browser on your device, so photos never leave it and the tool works offline after one visit. Nothing is stored after you close the page, so download your pack before leaving.
