How this calculator works

  1. Payment = your category's rate; assistance = RM33,300 − payment.
  2. Monthly minimum balance = the balance before that month's saving arrives.
  3. Hibah = rate × the average of 12 monthly minimum balances, credited every 12 months.
  4. Months to reach = the first month the balance reaches RM15,000 (or your hajj payment).

Hajj rules to know in 2026

  • Seruan Istito'ah (11 September 2026): anyone who has not performed hajj enters the queue automatically once their balance reaches RM15,000, replacing manual registration.
  • Offers: a RM15,000 balance and a health check are required; 2027 offer letters went to 31,600 pilgrims from 21 September 2026.
  • Age: no automatic priority at age 60 in the normal queue; age, mahram, health and average balance are weighed in appeals.
  • Private hajj packages (licensed hajj operators) cost much more and get no assistance; prices vary by company.
  • Zakat: TH pays zakat on savings for depositors. See also the zakat calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How much does hajj cost in Malaysia in 2026 and 2027?

The actual Muassasah cost is RM33,300 a pilgrim for 1447H/2026 and 1448H/2027. First-time B40 pilgrims pay RM15,000, first-time M40 RM23,500 and T20 RM33,300. Hajj financial assistance covers the rest: RM18,300 for B40 (including RM1,000 from the government) and RM9,800 for M40.

What is the minimum Tabung Haji balance for a hajj offer?

RM15,000. It is needed to receive a hajj offer, and under Seruan Istito'ah depositors who have not performed hajj join the queue automatically once their balance reaches RM15,000.

What is the 31 December 2028 deadline?

Depositors already registered for hajj must reach a RM15,000 balance by 31 December 2028 to keep their original queue date. From 1 January 2029 the queue is reordered by date and compliance. There are no exemptions for the elderly or B40. With a RM3,000 balance you need to save about RM 440.00 a month.

How long does it take to save RM15,000 in Tabung Haji?

Saving RM500 a month from zero at 3.50% hibah reaches RM15,000 in 30 months, including RM 405.87 hibah. To get there in 26 months (December 2028) from zero, save RM 560.00 a month.

What was the Tabung Haji hibah for 2025?

3.50% after zakat for financial year 2025 (declared 18 March 2026), the highest in eight years. 2024: 3.25%, 2023: 3.10%, 2022: 3.10%. A RM10,000 balance kept all year at 3.50% earns RM 350.00.

How is Tabung Haji hibah calculated?

Hibah is paid on the average monthly minimum balance over the year, after the zakat TH pays on behalf of depositors. Money deposited mid-month starts counting the following month.

How long is the hajj queue in Malaysia?

There is no consistent official figure: TH and government officials have cited 96, 120 and 148 years. Malaysia's quota is 31,600 pilgrims a year and over 4 million people are registered. There is no automatic priority at age 60 in the normal queue; age is one factor in appeals.
