PDF measures pages in points, 72 to the inch. "Same as image" makes each page fit its picture at 96 pixels per inch, the screen standard, so a 1080 px photo becomes a 810-point (285.75 mm) page.

    Honest limits

    • PDF to Word rebuilds text, paragraphs, headings and lists. It does not rebuild tables, columns, images or exact fonts, and scanned PDFs need OCR.
    • Word to PDF keeps headings, lists, tables, images and basic formatting, but simplifies headers, footers, text boxes and page numbers.
    • Compress helps scanned and photo-heavy PDFs; text PDFs are usually already small.
    • Password-protected PDFs can be read and converted to images or Word after you enter the password, but merging and splitting need an unprotected copy.

Disclaimer: check converted documents before you submit or sign them. The tool is free and provided as is; it uses PDF.js (Apache-2.0), pdf-lib (MIT) and mammoth (BSD-2-Clause), whose licences are published in LICENSES.txt.

    Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Every conversion runs in your browser on your device with open-source libraries hosted on this site (PDF.js, pdf-lib and mammoth), so contracts, payslips and IC copies never leave your phone or computer. The libraries load only when you use a PDF feature, and the page works offline after that.

How do I convert JPG to PDF?

Choose Images to PDF, add your photos, put them in order and pick a page size: A4 (210 × 297 mm), Letter, Legal, A5, or Same as image for pages that fit each photo exactly. JPEG photos are placed in the PDF byte for byte, so there is no quality loss; PNG and WebP are converted to JPEG at the quality you choose. Rotated phone photos are turned upright first.

How do I convert PDF to Word?

Choose PDF to Word and add the PDF. The tool reads the PDF's text layer, rebuilds lines in reading order, joins them into paragraphs, turns larger text into headings and bullets into lists, and saves a .docx that Word, Google Docs and LibreOffice open. Tables, columns and images are not rebuilt. Scanned PDFs are pictures of text and need OCR, which this tool does not do; it tells you when a PDF has no text.

How do I merge PDF files?

Choose Merge, add two or more PDFs, use the arrows to set the order and download merged.pdf. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and links and fonts are kept. Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged; open them in a PDF reader, print them to a new PDF, then merge.

How do I split a PDF or extract pages?

Choose Split and organise and add the PDF. To keep some pages, type them like 1-3, 5, 8- (8- means page 8 to the end) and save. To split, choose every page, every N pages or your own ranges separated by semicolons, such as 1-2; 3-5, and download a ZIP of PDFs. You can also rotate, delete and reorder pages before saving.

How much can compressing a PDF save?

Compress re-renders each page as a JPEG image at the resolution you pick, which typically shrinks scanned PDFs and PDFs full of large photos a lot, for example a phone-scanned form at 150 dpi. Text-only PDFs are already small and may get bigger, in which case the tool tells you to keep the original. Text on compressed pages can no longer be selected or searched.

Can I convert Word to PDF without Microsoft Word?

Yes. Choose Word to PDF and add a .docx file. The document is converted to a web page with its headings, lists, tables, bold and italic text and images, then your browser's print dialog saves it as PDF (choose Save as PDF). Complex layouts, headers, footers and page numbers are simplified. Old .doc files must be saved as .docx first.
