Hijri Date Converter Malaysia

On Wednesday, 14 October 2026, the Hijri date is 3 Jumada al-Ula 1448 AH on Malaysia's official takwim. The Hijri day begins at Maghrib (sunset), so after Maghrib the Hijri date has already moved to the next day.

1 Shawwal 1448 AH falls on Wednesday, 10 March 2027 on the Malaysian takwim, and the first of Ramadan 1448 AH on Monday, 8 February 2027. The Keeper of the Rulers' Seal announces the actual date after moon sighting, and it can differ by a day.

Hari Raya Aidiladha (10 Dhu al-Hijjah 1448 AH) falls on Monday, 17 May 2027, Awal Muharram 1449 AH on Sunday, 6 June 2027 and Maulidur Rasul (12 Rabi al-Awwal 1449 AH) on Sunday, 15 August 2027, on Malaysia's official takwim.

JAKIM uses the MABIMS imkanur rukyah criteria: a new month begins if, at sunset after the conjunction, the crescent is at least 3 degrees high with an elongation of at least 6.4 degrees. If not, the current month runs to 30 days. The start of Ramadan, Shawwal and Dhu al-Hijjah is also confirmed by moon sighting.

Saudi Arabia uses the Umm al-Qura calendar, calculated for Makkah, while Malaysia applies the MABIMS criteria to the Malaysian horizon. For example, 1 Muharram 1448 AH was 16 June 2026 on Umm al-Qura but 17 June 2026 in Malaysia.

Each Hijri month has 29 or 30 days depending on the crescent, and a Hijri year has 354 or 355 days, about 11 days shorter than a Gregorian year. That is why Ramadan and Hari Raya come about 11 days earlier each year.

From 1 Muharram 1400 AH (21 November 1979) to the end of 1500 AH (16 November 2077). Dates from 1443 AH (2022) onward match the official takwim we checked; earlier dates use the old MABIMS criteria and may differ by a day from the actual sighting record.
